The right way to begin
depends on where you are.
Some people arrive already knowing this is home. Others want to feel it first. And some just need a place to bring their whole family together. We have shaped our services around all three.
Return to HomeHow we think about the services we offer
Each of our three services was developed in response to something real that families and seniors told us they needed. The Weekend Retreat grew from years of people saying: "We wish we could try it before deciding." The Full Residency programme has been our core offering since 2009 โ and has evolved with feedback from the people who live within it. The Family Reunion Hosting Package emerged because residents kept asking: how do we bring everyone here at once?
Our methodology is simple: we listen, we design around the natural environment we are fortunate to inhabit, and we staff carefully enough that the experience can actually be what we describe. We do not overbook. We do not rush. And we measure success not by any single metric but by the conversations we overhear on the dock on a Tuesday afternoon in September.
Retreat
3 days, 2 nights. A low-pressure way to feel this place firsthand.
Residency
Year-round. Your private suite, your pace, your seasons.
Family Reunion
2โ5 days. Bring everyone. We handle the rest.
Weekend Retreat Experience
CAD $225 per night ยท 3 Days ยท 2 Nights ยท Spring through Autumn
A 3-day, 2-night stay designed specifically for seniors who want to experience the rhythm of life at muskokiqqs before considering anything longer. You will have a private room with a choice of lake-view or garden-view outlook. All meals are included. You are welcome to join the weekend activity schedule โ which typically includes a nature walk, a watercolour or craft session, a campfire evening, and, where the season permits, live music. None of it is required.
Every retreat guest is welcomed with a personal tour and introduction to current residents. The spirit of the weekend is genuinely unhurried โ some guests participate in everything; others spend most of their time reading on the porch or sitting by the dock. After your stay, we offer a relaxed follow-up conversation to discuss impressions and answer any questions about next steps, should you wish.

Full Residency with Nature Programming
CAD $510/month base amenity fee ยท Year-Round
Our full residency option is a year-round living arrangement set within the pine forests and waterways of the Muskoka region. Each resident has a private, furnished suite. The base amenity fee covers access to communal dining, the craft studio, the reading room, and all outdoor spaces โ including the walking trails and the dock. We encourage you to treat these spaces as extensions of your home, because they are.
Daily programming reflects the seasons in a way that feels natural rather than organized. Winter brings snowshoe loops, fireside storytelling evenings, and afternoon crafting near the woodstove. Summer opens the canoe routes, the vegetable garden, and long evenings on the dock. All meals are prepared on-site using local ingredients whenever they are available. Staff are present around the clock for non-medical support โ transportation, mail, activity coordination โ and monthly community gatherings ensure the programming continues to reflect what residents actually want.
